Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Leh

  • Leh is situated at an altitude of over 3,500 meters above sea level and is the second-largest Union Territory (UT) in India.
  • During winter, most passes leading to Leh are closed, so you'll be flown to Leh's airport, which is the highest airport in the world.
  • Upon landing, you'll be greeted by dry, cold air and the breathtaking sight of lofty, snow-capped mountains surrounding the area—a view that will stay with you forever.
  • After completing arrival formalities and collecting your baggage, proceed to the pre-arranged hotel or guest house by taxi.
  • Enjoy an overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 02 Acclimatization Walk in Leh

Day 03 Getting a medical check-up at Medical Camp in Leh Market

  • Start your day with a substantial breakfast to energize yourself for the day’s activities.
  • Visit the Medical Camp in Leh Market for a required health check-up.
  • Get your clearance certificate at the ALTOA-designated camp, confirming you're fit and acclimated for the trek.
  • Return to your accommodation for a comfortable overnight stay, readying yourself for the adventure ahead.

Day 04 Journey to Raar

  • Start your day with breakfast before heading to Raar in the picturesque Zanskar Valley.
  • Embark on an exciting 1.5 km trek across the stunning frozen Chadar, taking in the unique and surreal icy landscape.
  • Arrive in Raar by afternoon and enjoy a satisfying lunch at your comfortable campsite.
  • Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and soaking up the peaceful surroundings of the valley.
  • As night falls, enjoy a hearty dinner and unwind under the starry sky, gearing up for the adventures of the next day.

Day 05 Trek to Dib Cave/Tibb

  • Fuel up with a hearty breakfast to prepare for your trek on the Chadar Trek.
  • Set out toward Dib Cave/Tibb, marveling at the stunning ravines and gorges along the way.
  • Take a break for a packed lunch amidst the dramatic landscape, appreciating the tranquil surroundings despite the steep cliffs.
  • Reach Dib Cave, where you'll camp for the night, enjoy some local butter tea, and savor a delicious dinner at the campsite.
  • Settle in for a comfortable overnight stay, gearing up for another exciting day of the Chadar Trek

Day 06 Dib Cave/Tibb Camp to Naerak Frozen Waterfall

  • Start your day with a wholesome breakfast to gear up for the Chadar Trek.
  • Set out to explore the region’s most picturesque spots, including the grand frozen waterfall and colorful prayer flags that enhance the icy vistas, and notice the summer bridge linking Zanskar to Leh.
  • Pause for a packed lunch surrounded by these stunning views before continuing your trek towards the village of Naerak.
  • In Naerak, engage with the villagers and learn about their traditional lifestyles.
  • Conclude the day with a delightful dinner at the village camp, then rest comfortably to prepare for the next day's adventures on the Chadar Trek.

Day 07 Naerak Waterfall to Dib Cave/Tibb Camp & Back To Leh

  • Energize yourself with a substantial breakfast to prepare for the return trek on the Chadar Trek.
  • Set out on the challenging journey from Naerak Waterfall back to Tibb, keeping in mind that the frozen river may have changed due to temperature fluctuations.
  • Admire the breathtaking views, take memorable photos, and interact with locals wearing traditional woolen Gonchas (robes) during the trek. Stop for a packed lunch amidst the stunning landscape.
  • Once you reach Tibb, take some time to relax before continuing your journey back to Leh.
  • Reach Leh by evening, enjoy a warm dinner, and settle into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 08 Departure from Leh

  • Begin your day after breakfast, checking out from the hotel, taking a moment to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and the sense of achievement from your Chadar Trek.
  • Head to Leh airport, carrying with you a heart full of cherished memories and a spirit enriched by your remarkable adventure.

Included/Exclude

  • Accommodation. Leh Hotel or Guest House (Day 1,2,3,7 according to Itinerary) and Camping while on Trek on Day 4,5,6 according to Itinerary)

  • Meals while on Chadar trek (Veg.) – Hot Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner starting from Day 4 to Day 7 and “Only Breakfast” from Day 1 to Day 3.

  • Chadar Trek equipment including -30 degree comfortable double-layer Siachen sleeping bags, sleeping mats, air breathable 4 season camping tents, mobile kitchen, and utensils for food.

  • First Aid, Medical Kits, Oximeter, and oxygen cylinder.

  • Qualified & experienced trek Leader, Guide, and Support staff to help trekkers.

  • Fixed return transfers from Leh hotel to Trek Base Camp are included in the package as per the itinerary on Day 4 and Day 7

  • Porters to carry the common luggage including tents, sleeping bags, kitchen tents, camping rations and food, fuel/kerosene, oxygen cylinders, and toilet tents.

  • Tentative Permits (LAHDC, ALTOA, Adventure Insurance Premium) cost of Rs.10,000/- to be paid on actuals to government.

  • Any kind of personal expenses.

  • A medical check-up may happen at Tourist Information Center (TIC) or as advised by the ALTOA association for Chadar Trek.

  • Porter to carry personal luggage.

  • Pick from the Leh Airport.

What if some natural calamities happen in between the treks?

Thomas Tours and Travel takes utmost care to ensure the safety of its members during the trekking expeditions. However, in the case of any unforeseen mishaps, Thomas Tours and Travel will not be liable for any injuries caused or for loss of life. All disputes arising due to the above are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi/Delhi only. All participants would be required to sign an Indemnity Form before the start of the program, without which they would not be allowed to take part in the trekking and expeditions.
