Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive Srinagar and Drive to Sonmarg

  • Begin your adventure of Kashmir Great Lakes trek with a convenient pickup at Srinagar. Meet our representative for a smooth transfer.
  • Set out on a scenic drive from Srinagar to Sonmarg (Shitkadi), a 76 km journey that takes around 4 hours. Along the way, make time to visit some of Srinagar's famous landmarks, such as Dal Lake and the Mughal Gardens, to enrich your travel experience.
  • Arriving in Sonmarg by evening, you'll settle into camps located just outside the town, the starting point for your Kashmir Great Lakes trek.
  • Spend the night in Sonmarg, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, as you soak in the beauty of the area and prepare for the adventure that lies ahead.

Day 02 Shitkadi To Nichnai

Day 03 Nichnai to Vishansar lake

  • Set out on your trek from Nichnai, following the iconic Kashmir Great Lakes trail.
  • Enjoy the experience as you pass through vibrant green meadows, surrounded by the captivating beauty of nature.
  • Climb to the impressive Nichnai Pass, a highlight of the trek, where you'll be rewarded with stunning views of distant snow-covered peaks.
  • Descend from Nichnai Pass to arrive at the serene Vishansar Lake, a breathtaking spot waiting to be explored.
  • Trek a distance of 13 km over about 6 hours, reaching an altitude of 12,000 ft, as you embrace the wonders of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek.

Day 04 Vishansar lake to Gadsar lake

  • Begin your day with a nourishing breakfast before setting out on the trek from Vishnusar Lake to Gadsar Lake.
  • The trail will lead you past Kishansar Lake as you head toward Gadsar Pass, a significant milestone on your journey.
  • It typically takes around 2 to 3 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace.
  • Once at the summit, prepare to be captivated by the sweeping views, offering stunning panoramas of both Vishnusar Lake and Kishansar Lake below.
  • Gadsar Lake, a gem of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, lies ahead. Known for its crystal-clear waters, it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled lakes in the region.

Day 05 Gadsar lake to Satsar lake

  • Day 5 starts with invigorating deep breathing exercises, followed by a filling breakfast at the campsite.
  • Begin your trek to Satsar by crossing the river, feeling the thrill as you wade through the cool, refreshing waters.
  • Satsar is a cluster of seven interconnected lakes, each offering its own distinct charm depending on the season.
  • Choose a campsite near the first lake, where you can enjoy a scenic and peaceful camping experience surrounded by nature’s serenity.
  • Take the time to explore each of the lakes at Satsar, soaking in the tranquility and marveling at the untouched wilderness around you.

Day 06 Satsar lake to Gangabal twin Lakes

  • Prepare yourself for a tough day as we get ready for a long and demanding hike across rocky terrain covered with stones.
  • Today’s destination is Gangbal, and we’ll begin our descent towards it after crossing the last of the Satsar Lakes.
  • Expect rugged paths and uneven ground that will require both focus and stamina as we make our way through the landscape.
  • Though the hike will be challenging, the reward of breathtaking scenery and a sense of accomplishment awaits us at Gangbal.
  • Keep your focus and maintain a steady pace as we tackle this challenging leg of our journey.

Day 07 Gangabal to Naranag and Drive to Srinagar

  • Today marks the conclusion of our trekking adventure, bringing us to the final stage of our journey.
  • Begin the trek by following the creek until you reach the tree line, then proceed through pine forests and open meadows.
  • Our final destination is Naranaag, where SUVs will be waiting to take us back.
  • Cherish the last moments of the trek, absorbing the sights and sounds of the natural surroundings.
  • This is where our journey comes to an end.
